Fund Raiser Ideas
NOTE: The following list was presented
at our RCC May 6, 2008 meeting. The list was compiled from ideas
suggested by membership via the email. It has been updated after our
March 3, 2009 meeting. jw
ACTION TAKEN ON THE FOLLOWING IDEAS:
Membership dues: By vote of the membership the annual dues were changed from
family to individual adults. Dues for each adult for 2009 is
$15.00. Each paying adult will have one vote on issues.
Rummage Sale: A sale is scheduled for May, 2009.
Re-roofing: Contacted OSO for help. They generously
responded. Sign in front of RCC recognizes their help.
THE
FOLLOWING IDEAS ARE STILL OPEN FOR DISCUSSION:
- Check
with the Granite Falls Historical Society to find out how they raise
money.
- Have an
open house with a slide show of the history of our building.
Incorporate a rummage sale, a craft and garden sale and auction. Ask
businesses to donate articles for the auction.
- Do a
joint fund-raiser with another local organization.
- Have a
capital fund raiser to “Save the Schoolhouse” with collection jars in
town.
- Build a
cell tower. Revenue approximately $1000.00 per month.
- Fence
the back acreage and build an organic vegetable garden for members
only. Cost, $500.00. sell organic vegetables at an open house
near the end of the growing season. Possible revenue: $1000.00
- Consider
a modest “garlic” festival. Package the garlic and sell in GF as we
are not set up for a lot of cars.
- Creating
a new cookbook emphasizing Garlic Dishes.
- Solicit
from the experiences of other local community clubs in the area.
- Invite
someone from another local club to be a guest speaker for us to discuss
the various options they went through to raise funds.
- Create
the “1st Annual Riverside Community Center World Chili Cook-Off”.
Everyone welcome ($1.00 per bowl)
- Have a
Salmon BBQ.
- Let a
Tool Supply Company rent the building for a giant weekend tool sale.
This is assuming we would get insurance for the building.
